About Me

After graduating from high school in the Capital Region of New York in 2009, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Animal Physiology from the Cornell University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences in 2013.  Then, I worked as a veterinary assistant at ARC Veterinary Clinic for one year before attending the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine.  I am very proud to have graduated from veterinary school in May of 2018!

During my time at Cornell, I explored many different career paths within veterinary medicine, including ambulatory medicine, public health, and pathology.  I was inspired to pursue small animal medicine because of my time volunteering at Cornell’s healthy pet clinic for low-income families.  After experiencing that overwhelming sense of fulfillment derived from helping people and their pets in that setting, I knew that small animal general practice was how I was most fit to serve my community.

My favorite clinical rotations at Cornell included dermatology and dentistry.  I have a special interest in One Health (the idea that the health of humans, animals, and the environment are inextricably linked).

My husband, Michael, is the Chief Executive Officer of a food technology startup called Farther Farms.  We met during my first semester of veterinary school when he was working at Cornell’s Investment Office.  Together, we provide a loving home for our daughter and Miniature Poodle, Willy.  Willy was presented to ARC when he was just one year old and in need of life-saving surgery. His owners then surrendered him to our clinic.  As I helped Willy return to health, I realized that I couldn’t bear to see him adopted by anyone but me, so he became mine!

Outside of veterinary medicine, I enjoy traveling (I have spent a semester in Tanzania a summer in Colombia) and scrapbooking.  I also love to exercise with Willy, whether we are hiking in Ithaca or running along the East River.
